This is a hands-on program, teaching the basics of electronic components and circuitry. Participants will learn the functions of the various primary electronic components, and how they affect the operation of electronic systems.
- Provide experience and direction at reading directions and diagrams
- Create the connection between electronic theory and practical application of components (Capacitors, Diodes, Electromagnets, Oscillators, Resistors, Transformers, Transistors, Solar Collectors) and circuits
- Promote understanding of the function, purpose, and application of electronic components
- Learn basics of using a digital multi-meter (DMM)
- Measure voltage (AC/DC)
- Measure current (DC)
- Determine resistance
- In conjunction with included DMM, derive Ohm’s Law
- Introduce the basics of electric motor operation
- Learn troubleshooting skills
- Provide an opportunity to learn, under direction, about electronics
- Combine learning with “doing” and “fun”
- This kit supports an application with Windows® compatible software to enable using a computer as an oscilloscope and/or frequency spectrum analyzer.
