Kids in classroom.

This is a hands-on program, teaching the basics of electronic components and circuitry.  Participants will learn the functions of the various primary electronic components, and how they affect the operation of electronic systems.

  • Provide experience and direction at reading directions and diagrams

  • Create the connection between electronic theory and practical application of components (Capacitors, Diodes, Electromagnets, Oscillators, Resistors, Transformers, Transistors, Solar Collectors) and circuits

  • Promote understanding of the function, purpose, and application of electronic components

  • Learn basics of using a digital multi-meter (DMM)

    • Measure voltage (AC/DC)

    • Measure current (DC)

    • Determine resistance

  • In conjunction with included DMM, derive Ohm’s Law

  • Introduce the basics of electric motor operation

  • Learn troubleshooting skills

  • Provide an opportunity to learn, under direction, about electronics

  • Combine learning with “doing” and “fun”

  • This kit supports an application with Windows® compatible software to enable using a computer as an oscilloscope and/or frequency spectrum analyzer.
